Aidmen in Italy
This photo analysis is of a medical jeep pulling into a battalion aid station in Italy. Some things I can’t figure out: e.g. random strips of metal (maybe) and soft-top vehicles.

“The fight for terrain is up forward. Back here is the fight to save life…Remember these faces — these are the faces of our sons who have done battle.” These are lines from “Remember these faces” a homefront movie to inspire citizens to purchase war bonds.
This is the first in an ongoing series of photographic analysis posts. WWII is the first war where lots of candid photography was created for both public information (propoganda) purposes as well as historical record. Regardless, it all has value to reenactors and historians. The photo for this analysis is one of my favorites from the official 1st Infantry Division history website.
